2. Elective colorectal resections in octogenarian and nonagenarian patients
1. To determine if there are differences between the treatments offered to colorectal cancer patients under and over 80 years old, focusing on factors related to colorectal surgery, such as:
a) Decision to operate
b) Surgery undertaken
c) Complications, including anastomotic leaks
d) Survival
These factors will be compared to see if age overrides ASA/PS/comorbidities and tumour stage. Additionally, these trends will be analyzed across regional hospitals to enhance our surgical research and understanding of surgical presentations, including oesophagectomy.
